Hi everyone!

I need suggestions on how to promote my books. The writing part is something I enjoy; putting myself out there isn't one of my talents. I've got some titles published by Barbour and they maintain the rights to those so I let them do whatever they want. But I had some other titles that didn't fit into the "template". I decided to publish those titles myself. I was wondering what I should do to get the word out. Should I do Facebook? Twitter? Are there newsletters or forums that are good for advertising books? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, I've done some editing and if anyone is looking for an opinion on their work (preferably romance!), I'm happy to help. I actually like editing as much as writing - as weird as that sounds.

You'll need to remove the links.  BUT ALL of what your mentioned.  Make facebook page for yourself and promote the books there, join goodreads and give away a few copies asking them to leave reviews.  If they are ebooks, try having a few days where the books are free or 99c and put that on facebook/twitter etc.

Book giveaways is the quickest way to get feedback, contact various blogs that do book reviews and ask if you can send them a copy to review.
Contact your local libraries and see if they will have an Author reading, most will accept just dont try and push them into buying your book. (make sure you have some copies on hand to sell at the author reading.

One thing PLEASE do not get friends/relatives to leave 5 star reviews on your books, they usually stand out a MILE to people looking at them.
