We're vacationing at the lake next week. I didn't think about getting a splash-proof cover until today when it occurred to me that I might like to read it while relaxing on my floatie on the water. Here's the dumb question: has anyone had bad experiences with, say, putting their Kindle, in a ziploc bag to keep out water while reading it? Will that destroy the whole thing? I've tried to do a little online research but haven't come up with anything yet. Thought this place would have the most experts with all the answers. Any info is appreciated! :)

I've definitely read of people doing that. I think its def. worth doing. I'd get the freezer bag (thicker plastic). |

I don't think putting it in a baggie (freezer type like Anne suggested) would hurt anything. However, I would remove it at the end of each day when I was far far far away from the water. LOL. I am thinking of condensation forming due to temperature differences. Hot outside/AC inside . . .or maybe I am just paranoid. |

Ziplocs are 100% water proof IF properly sealed! Splash Protector are NOT! They have velcro along the bottom so you can open to turn on & plug in the charger. Water Can get in around that! Best advice try Not to drop it in water LOL Not sure either would let it survive from a true dunking!! |

I'll give the ziploc thing a try and will report back after vacation. I'm thinking I'll get a whole box of freezer bags and use a new one each day. Just to be sure. I'm sure I can recycle the bags while we're gone. Wish me luck! :) |
