I loved this book! It is part history book, part love story, part medical research, part adventure ... and all great. It is based on the true story of Englishmen in Egypt trying to find a cure for cholera. What I thought was really unique is the way the author treats cholera almost as if it were a character. It took a little while for me to understand that she was talking about cholera microbes as if they had a mind of their own. I highly recommend this book to those of love historical fiction and investigative-type novels.
