I enjoyed reading this little book. It gives a deeper insight into what slave life was like because it is a first hand account. Hard to believe this horrible institution was once a daily part of this country's history. A worthwhile read.

This is a great book about life for a slave girl. It gives a whole new light to what it was like for them, women in particular. It shines a sad but true light on a time we would all rather forget and reminds us just how cruel people can be and consider it for the good of others.

Excellent! This biography gives the reader an idea what it may have been like being a slave girl, but not too graphic. The events take place before the Civil War, and is written from a Christian perspective. The abuses still exist in our free country today, but are not race-related. It is good to walk in this woman's shoes through this book.
