I know nothing about the book or the author, but I just downloaded a copy. It's available through 3/31.

where did you get it from? I might want to check it out.

The author is Scott  Sigler, and it is on his website.  I thought that it might be a PDF of The Infected by Michael McBride, and was surprised as it just came out in hardcover.  It turns out that Sigler's novel isn't even out yet!  I had read a review, and it sounded interesting, so I grabbed it.  He also has 4-5 books as free downloadable podcasts, but you have to follow a few links to get there.
