today from the recipient of a book that I sent last week and marked received 3 days ago. The PM says "I recieved a book I didn't order, please give June credit for book. I will post again.Thank You"

So went to Transaction Archive to see if I sent the book to a wrong address which I doubt as I have no other books en route to anywhere. TA showed her order, date printed, date mailed, date received, etc. I am not sure what the PM was all about. Should I contact her and ask? I went to her profile page and see that she has the book in her "Currently reading" page and the author is one of her favorites.

I am confused :)

I would PM back and ask for clarification...perhaps she PM'd you in error so mention the book you sent her and explain that you are confused by her PM.

I am guessing she got a second copy from someone else and she was meaning to ask them to credit you for some reason. You investigated well and now just go with your plan and see how she responds! Feel free to get help from Live Help and ask her to if she is not understanding something you say.

Yes, I would ask.

As a newer member, I received a pm I didn't understand...something like "that was odd".  Jut that short and no reference number...I couldn't make heads or tails of the message and erased it.

A week or so later, I realized I had a book trying to go lost (misplaced in Warrendale).  It eventually was returned to me with a new PBS label attached over my (damaged) original label and postage.  I double checked the zip code, which matched the requester (and my USPS receipt)  The package was returned using the default PBS addy, so I couldn't really tell where it was from.  To this day, I have no idea how this book got in the hands of a PBS member (not the requester/addressee) and was mysteriously returned to me.  If only I had saved that pm, she probably knew what happened!

FYI-- the PBS system automatically puts books you receive in that "books I'm reading" list without any input from you.  Since i have 100+ TBR books, there's no way the system can know what I'm reading---LOL.

That's the default, Jeanne, but we can also choose which book we want to appear in our "currently reading" box.  To do that go to "my account" --> "my profile" and scroll down to "I'm Currently Reading."  Click "edit."  Plug in the ISBN there.  (You can also choose the title from a list, but the ISBN works best, IMO.) Same thing with "favorite books" and favorite authors."

Yes, you can change that currently reading thing, but if you never enter stuff on your profile or forget to change it, it's easy to have stuff there that you aren't actually reading. I looked the other day and what I was reading had been supplanted by three books I'd received the day before. Very annoying! Leave my stuff alone! LOL
