It concerns an ancient Egyptian character who traveled through time, is handsome, charismatic and self assured. His keen mind endeared him to the throne of his beloved Queen Hatshepsut. Equally, his personality breaks women's hearts and so he is caught up in a love affair while trying to fend off all comers who are attracted to his persona. A significant theme running through the story is about some ancient jewels belonging to him with which he was buried and then seek to broker in New York where the book is principally set after he resurrects in that city in 1985. Naturally, serious queries are asked how he got hold of such riches as he claims them to be family heirlooms. In his desire to fit in modern New York, he does a number of things to fill his modern historical memory. Then he visits all the monuments in his country, those in existence during his time and those that followed to fill his ancient historical memory. However, he is also interested through a number of stratagems, to recover some treasure he buried before his untimely death. The modern love of his life is an heiress, but our hero seems oblivious to this as he pursues his own interests while having constant flashbacks regarding the ancient woman he loved, his parents, his father a Vizier in the 18th Dynasty, and the work he did as an architect and Commander of the Imperial Guard. Significantly the handsome devil poses a problem for his beautiful American lady who has to contend with women, who are constantly turning their heads when this fellow either enters a room or walks the streets. Whether it's New York or Cairo and its other environs, our man is Mr. Cool, calculated and cunning with one objective that is to win the heart of his lady and recover his precious buried treasure of gold and antique jewelry so as to make a better life for himself in America, his new adopted land.« less
