Hi all!  I've been a PBS member for a few months, but just decided to forray into the homeschooling corner here.  I've been homeschooling for about 7 years - I have  a 13yo in "8th" grade and a 7yo in "2nd" grade.  We have a blast.  My oldest is into reading (and reading and reading and reading! lol) basketball and art.  My youngest is still into playing with her buddies and trying to do a handstand!  (She figured out cartwheels and does them into the room, out of the room, down the hall, etc.)  I work full time for B&N (LOVE IT!) and have been married to my hunky prince charming for 14 years, this month.  He's career military, so it's been quite a ride! (19 years this year!  YAY!)

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello and it's nice to meet y'all!

Have a terrific day!

Welcome Gimi.  What do you do at B&N?  That must be a great job.  I often think it would be a dream to work in a large book store.

Welcome, Gimi. I just want to say I totally get the quotation marks around your kids' grade levels!

Hi, Gimi, and everyone else. I wanted to add, for Lynne's info, that I have a friend who works in the "receiving room" at our B&N. She opens the cartons of books, prices them, and gets them ready to be stocked on the shelves. She loves it. She's working school hours (she has elementary school age kids and her kids are in public school) and loves being able to wear jeans to work and the casual atmosphere. She is a former down-town Chicago banker and it's a nice change of pace for her. She, of course, says that the hard part is not spending too much of her paycheck on books. But we all knew that, right? :o) Cindy Edit: sheesh! I can't type or proofread today!
