While interesting, this series just keeps getting more complicated. I hadn't read this book until some time---months?---after I read the previous one. As a result, I had a hard time understanding who, what, when, where and why.

The technology of the friends and foes keeps advancing so quickly, I wouldn't be surprised if they developed the atom bomb in the next couple of books.

At least two new nations surface in this book. One is described in some basic detail, while another is just hinted at.
