Pamela Leigh Starr has a winner in the Lewis Family Series. I stumbeld on this author by accident, but boy am I glad I did. In "IRONIC", the third book of the series, a leader of a white supremist group falls in love with an African-American woman who helps him recover from a plane crash that leaves him temporarily blind and temporarily without a memory.

I love the fact that Ms. Starr writes romance novels where love is not neatly wrapped up in a gold foil package with a pretty red bow. Love is raw and love is real and love is not without problems that must be dealt with an overcome. Ms. Starr doesn't rely on hot, steamy sex to make the novels work. I recommend the Lewis Family Series - but, please read the books in order.

The first book "FATE" introduces you to Vanessa Lewis, a young woman from this strong black Southern family who falls in love with a white widower - Scott.

The second book, "CHANCES", continues the family's story with Vanessas's strong no nonsense sister Monica who lost her husband to death and vows to never fall in love, nor marry again.

"MISCONCEPTIONS" is the third book. It brings the family together to support Daniel, whose love for a white woman causes them to fight a persistent thorn in their side.

"IRONIC", the fourth book, brings them all together once again as the family's nenesis unexpectedly falls for a member of this strong family (Theresa).

The final book is "STORM". The book is written in post-Katrina New Orleans. The writer allows us to see the worst natural disaster to hit the Gulf Coast through the eyes of the Lewis's as Sabrina Adams and Josh Lewis find and preserve love in the midst of the devastation.
