NEVER update their websites? It drives me insane. I realize they're busy but that is what web masters are for. :( Erin McCarthy is probably one of the worst. Marjorie M. Liu was pretty bad but she got a new website & seems to be doing better. I use their sites & blogs to find book covers for upcoming books & it's hard to when they don't update. I'm done ranting. :D

Yes it is annoying!  What's the point in having a web site if it's months (or years) behind?

Charlaine Harris is wonderful.  While her website doesn't get updated often, she blogs book reviews.  Love that.

Yeah, I've noticed alot of authors that don't update their websites alot do post often on their blogs, including book covers, ect.

But the ones that don't update at all do get on my nerves.

Yes.  Not updating a blog is nasty.  Why have one at all if you don't update?  Face it, not all folks are up to doing one.  And saying you're traveling or busy is fine, as long as you say it.

But a website is a marketing tool.  If you aren't going to update it, at least turn it over to the publisher's PR folks.  Or join one of the shared ones.  Not having your own new cover and burb is shooting yourself in the foot.
