I have a WL book. I was going to post the book, but the ISBN I put in shows the book as a paperback when in fact it's a hard cover. The ISBN for the hard cover doesn't match the one on my book. I don't know what to do. Should I post with the ISBN on the book or should I click the 'no this is my book' button which gives an ISBN that doesn't match my book? I checked, both the paperback and the hard covers are WL'ed so I don't want to post the book incorrectly as I don't want to disappoint the member getting the book. Thanks for the help/input. |

Never post a book using a different ISBN than is actually on it. Title, author, ISBN, and book type all must match. From the Help Center:

You have only one option on posting this book into the system - as a book without an ISBN. Any book you post on PBS must match the system listing on 4 key points - ISBN, title, author and binding type. Unfortunately, the posting will not be offered to the people in the WL line. Sometimes people WL a specific ISBN and book type for a reason. You could apply a Tag to the WLed hardcover version "ISBN XXXXX is the same" or something to that effect and/or advertise it in the Book Bazaar. Here is the Help Center doc: When do you need to Post a book using the Post Books Without an ISBN feature?
If your book does not match the listing information (title, author, booktype) in the database for the ISBN on the book, it must be Posted without an ISBN To post your book without an ISBN:
When you are done, your book will be listed in the database with a customized listing that has a "short ISBN" or "PBS ISBN", which is the 5 or 6 digit number that PBS assigns in place of the ISBN to keep track of the book in the system.Last Edited on: 1/17/09 1:15 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
