This is a story of a family where the parents live in an empty nest on Nantucket. One daughter is married with two children. The second daughter is planning to have her wedding on Christmas Day there on the island. The Mother isnt thrilled with her choice for a husband as she sees her daughter living far away and not giving her anymore grandchildren. The Father decides Mother needs a cat and when she gets the cat, she's all about mothering the cat. Hence the cat is helping fill her empty nest and starts to calm Mother down. There's some fun adventures as a result of the cat being added in the household who has never lived in a house before and fun family dynamics as they prep for the wedding in addition to celebrating Christmas. This was a fun entertaining novella.
A nice quick Christmas read. When the younger daughter, Felicia, returns to Nantucket for her Christmas wedding her mother is in full swing planning a perfect wedding. Felicia and her fiance prefer a low key affair but are hoping to humor her parents. When her mother starts trying to matchmake Felicia with an old high school friend, things start going downhill. Also, the adoption of a feral cat right before the event lends some humorous happenings!
