I just started reading the Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon and I'm a little disappointed so far... It seems kind of confusing and there are so many characters to keep track of. I'm only on page 62 and everything still seems a litle discombobulated. So much that it makes me want to skim through the rest of the book, but I'm trying to resist the urge and keep reading. Has anyone else read this book? Without giving away any spoilers, what are your thoughts? Does it get better further along in the book? Does everything eventually tie in together and make sense? Like I said, I'm a little disappointed because it's been on my wish list for a long time and I finally got it. The story itself (on the back cover) sounds really interesting, but like I said, once I started reading, it's kind of confusing and not exactly what I thought it would be. :( Last Edited on: 11/14/08 10:47 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I was not a fan of her other book, Promise Not to Tell, so I took Island of Lost Girls off my WL. I never even finished Promise Not to Tell. |

I just finished that book and I found it quite a page turner. I was able to figure out the ending twist before I got to it which I usually can't do in books like these. I would keep plugging away but if you're still not enjoying it I'm sure there are other books on your shelf. I'll say one thing though, after reading this book I will never take my children to see one of those mall easter Bunnies ever again! They creep me out now. Brooke |

I just finished and thought it was great! Once you pick up on the fact that she switches back and forth between the present and past it seems to be a lot more readable. I'm looking forward to reading her other books. |

I finished it a few days ago and like it. I thought it was a little predictable, but was still an enjoyable read. |

Ok, I just finished it. It got better as the book went along, although I didn't guess the ending until I got there. I won't spoil it for anyone.. All in all, it wasn't one of my favorite books, but it wasn't really bad, either. Oh, and fake rabbits are creeping me out now! LOL |
