This is one of the few books I've read that I can honestly call "charming." It is a history of Anderson Island in Puget Sound, and again, the only word for it is charming. The different personalities described of the people living there paint a mental picture of a town full of -shock- sincere people. That alone makes it exotic enough to read and enjoy.

This is a delightful book. If you've ever wondered about what life would be like living on a small island, this will give you a great idea. It made me feel like I'd sure like to try it.

This book is about life on Anderson Island in the Pacific Northwest, it's people, it's lore, it's history - a life that responds to tides and seasons - the kind of life many Americans dream of living.
