It took me 6 months, but I managed to finish it, although only to page 1058, the next 164 pages are appendices, and I can't claim to to have read every word, because he spends whole pages writing in indecipherable (to a layman) languages. He is obsessed with the differences between "England" "Britian", "Scotland", "United Kingdom", "Wales" and "Ireland",(next to nothing in the book on Manx or Cornish history, alas) and stops every now and then to complain about the carelessness that many people have when misnaming them.
Pretty thick book for such small islands.
