I requested a book and it was offered in a different format as an audio book. I got it some time ago and it was sitting on my dresser for a few months. I finally brought it with me on a long drive and realized 2 of the CDs are missing!!! I do not know what to do. I guess I should have looked in the cover of the CDs but who would have thought such a thing would happen. It is not showing up on my list of transactions. Any advice? Thanks. Lisa
UPDATE: I received the CD's today!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last Edited on: 8/5/10 5:19 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Missing CDs would be the same as missing pages in a book, and we are supposed to check any book over before marking it received. It's a bit dicey to contact someone a couple months later to tell them about a problem with a book if you are asking for your credit back. They may not really remember the shipment, and may assume that the CDs went missing while in your home. But if you want to ask them to contact you if the missing CDs show up, it seems to me that that would be fine.
The transaction will be in your transactions archive, which is on your My Account menu. Once a transaction is no longer current, it is moved from your My Account page to the archive, and there is no way of deleting it from the archive. If you aren't seeing it, try sorting by date, or by author. |

Not much you can do...if you've already marked it received without a problem, you could PM the sender but, after a few months I know I wouldn't refund the credit. |

I would not ask for the credit back I was just hoping I could contact the sender and see if they have the CDs. Oh well, I guess I am out of luck. It is not in the archive. I know it was from PBS. Thanks for your replies. Last Edited on: 8/2/10 6:54 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

If you received a book through PBS and marked it received, it WILL be in your Transaction Archive and your Credit Registry. Sometimes you have to look pretty far back (the default is to list them by request date) or resort it in a better fashion such as Requested By Me and Date Received. The credit registry goes back for 6 months so it should be listed there on your request date also. |

It's a hard way to learn a lesson but I bet you check the audiobooks when you get them now. I always check to make sure all CDs are there, correctly numbered, and what condition they are in. If any have a major scratch, I will pop it in and play for a bit to make sure there aren't any skips. I hope they are able to get those CDs to you. Good luck. |
