This is another series that I've recently gotten hooked on! They take place in Arizona (which is a favorite place of mine).

It's going a little slow because I'm trying to read the series in order, but so far I really like them. I have books 4, 5 and 6 here but can't continue until book 3 gets here and I get it read.

I have a bunch of those on my shelf that were given to me.

Maybe I should try them out.

Oh my yes, Carmen.  Start from the first one, though; there is quite a bit of character / relationship development over the years.  They are not a cozy, per so, but definitely not as dark as some authors that I like.  I slso like her JP Beaumont character series.

Here's the order of the Joanna Brady series in case you need it.

Desert Heat (1993)

Tombstone Courage (1994)

Shoot, Don't Shoot (1995)

Dead to Rights (1996)

Skeleton Canyon (1997)

Rattlesnake Crossing (1998)

Outlaw Mountain (1999)

Devil's Claw (2000)

Paradise Lost (2001)

Partner in Crime [Beaumont and Brady] (2002)

Exit Wounds [Brady] (8/03)

Dead Wrong (2006)

Thanks the for order of the books Sharon. It doesn't always say when the book is listed what number it is and I've been plodding along trying to figure it out. I've got a few on my bookshelf yet to read and I still need to order the last couple of them.

And yes they almost have to be read in order because the first book gives you the who, what, where, why and when and then the characters are expanded from there.

The books are:

Dead Wrong
Exit Wounds
Partner in Crime
Paradise Lost
Devil’s Claw
Outlaw Mountain
Rattlesnake Crossing
Skeleton Canyon
Dead to Rights
Shoot/Don't Shoot
Tombstone Courage
Desert Heat

I, too, like all her books, but I think the Allison Reynolds series is taking over the favorite spot from the Beau books.     Can't wait for the next one.

I've picked up the first Joanna Brady and the first JP Beaumont to try, from my local library. I thought I would read them that way rather than use a credit, as I have got carried away lately with spending credits.

I have never heard of this author, so this thread has introduced me to more books to read. Like I didn't have enough already !!!

Just another fan.  I don't even remember where I picked up the first one, but I've read all the Joanne Brady series(through the library or picked up used copies)  She was one of those brilliant authors who pulled one character into another series so now I have to go read all the JP books.  Which I know was actually her first and only set for a long time

I LOVE    J A Jance....her books are fun for me to read since my brother lives in that area of AZ. Her characters are fantastic and easy to relate to.

What a coincidence!  I just joined the First Look program over at Harper-Collins publishers' site.  Someone has a thread about it here somewhere.

You sign up to read books that are just about to come out and then you do a review of the book.  One that I applied for was a Joanna Brady mystery!  I hope it will make sense to me (if I win) if it's part of this long series.  But I'm glad to hear that you all like the books so much.

I think that once I'm finished with the Joanna Brady series I'll give the JP Beaumont books a try. I understand that there is one book that is a combination of both of them. Unfortunately that may take awhile because I've got almost 70 books sitting here just waiting to be read!!!

Joanna Brady series is okay , but I really like the JP Beaumont series better.  Of course, I love the city of Seattle.

I'm now reading the J.P. Beaumont series and I'm enjoying it and really like the J.P. character but I don't think the books are as well rounded as the Joanna Brady series.
