This is where we post what we have to give away at no cost or obligation to the person receiving.....

For our purposes, a Random Act of Kindness (to be referred to as a RAOK) is defined as something nice one PBS member does for another PBS member with NO CREDITS changing hands! The idea is for people to post items they are willing to send another member FREE of charge or credits (including shipping). This is a great way to make someone's day at the same time that you can declutter your house of things you no longer need/use but weren't sure you wanted to discard. NOTE: Some of us don't remember every member's nickname, so it is helpful to write that by your address label, when you send a RAOK, to make it easier for receiving members to thank you. Please REMEMBER to thank members as some items do get lost in mail and we want to know that our USPS is doing their job!

The way to do this, is to list items to this thread that you are willing to send as RAOKs the way we list damaged books/ARCs/etc. in the Book Bazaar, and make them first come, first serve. When an item has been spoken for, please cross it off or delete it from your post. You might want to show who got it but that's up to you. Just make sure you update as frequently as possible so that no one is disappointed. Please everyone just use one post each and keep it updated. NOTE: Before posting a ROAK, please check this month's *** I Wish thread to see if you are able to fill a members' Wish, first. This is especially true for Coke codes, boxtops for education, etc.

If you see something you'd like, PM the member with your address. To post things you are wishing for, see the *** Monthly I WIsh thread.*** And to keep these threads clean and easy to read, please use the ***Monthly Thank you thread*** to thank people for things you have received. Always let the members know, either in a PM or Thank You that you rec'd the item so they know it's not lost.

Obviously since RAOKs are free but cost the sender shipping, if you request a RAOK from someone and they aren't able to ship it for a while, please be patient! Please mark out items as they are taken so other members are not disappointed

If you have questions, please feel free to PM me and ask. We are happy to help our RAOKer friends, old and new!

Here are the items I can send out this month:

Clearing out some more Comic*Con 2010 swag items, I found these large postcards that might as well be mini posters. They are 7in high and 5in wide. They display the covers of a few titles that, at the time of Comic*Con, were newly released. The postcards depict the following books:

Glee The Beginning

Guardian of the Gate by Michelle Zink

Ghostgirl: Lovesick by Tonya Hurley

The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi

Thirteen Days to Midnight by Patrick Carman

  ---

I found a few free bookmarks in my local bookstore.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan, each bookmark features a different character: Walt, Bes

---

PM me with you requests! :)

I have a HUGE stash of stickers (some Christian, many Disney princess, some misc.),  cards (misc.), e Post-Its, note pads, etc.  Basically stationary-store-a-palloza.

I would love to be able to pare down what I have.  I don't want to spend too much time sorting it, though.  If you are interested in some of this stuff, I will throw it in an envelope and mail it out.

Thanks so much!

I have a board game called Liebrary.  It was given to me as a well-intentioned gift.  The player is given a book title and a summary and are then asked to create the first line of the book.  They try to fool the other players.  I was given this as a gift (I think it was purchased from a third party seller from Amazon), but I have not had time/interest/opportunity to play.  It is quite a hefty game, so when I mail it, I would send it cheap so it may take a while for you to get it.  The cards are still shrink wrapped and I think all the pieces are still in it.

It is my hope that someone out there is excited to play it and has the opportunity to do so.  PM me and let me know.

= )

I have the following to offer this month:

A box of about a dozen assorted rubber stamps.

A pair of shoelace charms that I took off a pair of Sketchers.  They have pale blue sparkly hearts on them.

A package of EyeMed premoistened lens towlettes.  Taken!

3 pairs gently worn ankle socks.  Best for young girls as, alas, they are too tight on my size 8 1/2 clodhoppers.  I'd like to send these to 3 different people, please:                      White with red and green snowflakes
                                    White with sparkly green shamrocks
                                    White with pink trim

2    1   mouse pad.  The old soft bendable one.  Maybe good to cut up for crafts?  Only 1 left!

Wordsearch puzzles.  A bunch of loose pages torn from a book of mind challenges.  I am just not a fan of word searches, but thought someone out there would probably enjoy them.

An assortment of linen and cloth napkins.  They are clean, but they need to be ironed!

Happy Fourth!

I have a pair of Bolle Sizzle sunglasses with "Crystal Citrus" frames and amber lenses. Bolle says these are for women, but they are too small for me (and I'm pretty small). So I would say they are more appropriate for a child. They are polarized, very nice sunglasses that have never been worn and come with the original Bolle soft case and cleaning cloth.

I have a  2011-2012 2 Year Planner. 2011 is half over but you can use it for the remainder of 2011 and all of 2012. It has a lighthouse on the cover. It is about 7 inches by 4 inches when closed. It could easily fit into a purse. The squares for each date are about a square inch.

Taken
