BRILLIANT. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I've been a Dean fan for quite some time and was very pleased with this book. 'Mutant King' focuses a lot on Dean's early work and career on broadway and on television and of course covers his short film history. Quite a detailed study on Dean's psyche.

Great biography - a real insight into the soul of the actor.

I am not particulary atracted in any way to James Dean or his movies. I was given the book and started browsing through it and ending reading it over a weekend. It is very well written, with lots of black and white photos.
