Baran Arvid is a genetically enhanced super soldier sent 300 years into the past to protect Jane Colby. Druas, a sadistic psychopath, has been jumping back in time ruthlessly slaying humans. Jane is his next intended victim.

Angela Knight does a good job building Baran's futuristic world. I found the details and descriptions of the futuristic toys, such as the jumpsuit that catapults them into the past, very interesting. I also enjoyed Baran's partner Freika, a genetically engineered timber wolf with a vocalizer. He added a bit of humor the story that was needed as a way to balance out the grimness of the murders. Baran is my kind of hero; strong, sexy, very dominant and protective without being a jerk. Jane is a good match for Baran. She is smart, brave and trusting. Thankfully, she never compromises Baran during his mission.

My one gripe with the story was (and I don't know if I am getting squeamish in my old age or what) the suspense part of the book seemed particularly gruesome. It is hard for me to jump from one scene of horrific torture, to a make-out session in the bedroom. I can only suspend my disbelief to a certain extent. Also, there was a conflict with Jane's father I would have liked to have seen resolved in more detail. Even so, this was a well conceived story and I was sorry to see it end. I actually would have liked for it to have been longer and seen more of Baran's futuristic world.

Good, although not quite as good as I was expecting. There's something a little unpolished or blunt about the writing style which kept me from becoming emotionally attached to the characters for the first part of the book. I wonder if it's just that this is the author's first book... Still very worth reading if you like the genre, and I'm interested in reading more by this author!

A really good story, but lacking something. Way too much use of the words "cream" and "creamy."

Paranormal romance. Baran Arvid comes from 300 yrs in the future to protect and save Jane Colby from a time jumping serial killer. Jane is reluctant to trust this Warlord from the future since he intends on using HER as bait. I really thought I would like this but its just one big sex scene with a rushed, crappy ending.

I enjoyed this sex filled time traveler romance. Good fantasy material. There is also a loose Good VS Evil plot line that involves Jack the Ripper.

Reporter Jane Colby covers crime for the local paper, but the most recent murder is especially shocking--leaving even the most hardened detectives shaken. What she doesn't know is that this killer has struck before--hundreds of years ago--and now he's jumped through time again to find his next victim--Jane...

Her only hope is a man named Baran Arvid--a genetically engineered warrior from three hundred years in the future. He's been sent to capture the predatory time traveler, and he intends to trap him any way he can--even if it means using Jane as bait.

Despite her reluctance to trust Baran, Jane can't resist his sexual allure. And this fierce warlord never imagined he could feel such insatiable desire--or that he would risk everything to seduce the woman he was sent to protect. But will their passion survive the galaxies that come between them--and the killer intent on destroying them?

I had a hard time getting through this book. Not much of a plot ... think it was written more for the erotic sex then anything else.

4.5 stars. Angela Knight is a great writer. Her books include lots of action, suspense, smart dialogue, alpha males and sizzling sex scenes. The relationship in this book is interesting and grows during the course of the action. Gotta love an author who includes a cat named Octopussy.

This was the first novel of Angela Knight's that I've read. I liked the story. Her treatment of the love scenes is a little blunt. She reminds me of Lora Leigh that way. A good read nonetheless.

My first read by Knight. It was alright. I'm not much into the time travel fantasy bit so it didn't satisfy me. I'm a LKH fan so it just didn't cut it for me.

Reporter Jane Colby is shocked by a gruesome murder in her small southern town, but she is even more stunned to learn that the murderer isn't from this century and that she is his main target. Her only chance at surviving is fighting fire with fire, or, in this case, future with future, as embodied in Baran Arvid, a twenty-fourth-century warrior. Baran's orders are to keep her from dying, and Jane's mission is to stop the murderer before he kills again. As the tension mounts and their trust grows, both realize they're also trying not to lose their hearts. Knight keeps her writing feet firmly on the ground in her debut novel. Though a few plot points need strengthening--it would be good to see Baran pursue the killer more actively--and the coarse language used during lovemaking may not be to some readers' liking, her world is believable and her plotting fast paced. Knight's fictional world seems to have a promising future.
