Janet Quin-Harkin is the author of more than one hundred books. She was born in Bath, England, and has worked for both BBC and Australian TV. Some of her most popular works include "Sweet Dreams," "Sugar and Spice," "Septimus Bean and His Amazing Machine" and "On Our Own," Most of her books feature a small group of characters whose lives mirror that of Mid-western America.

In the 1990s Quin-Harkin turned to writing mystery novels for adults under the name Rhys Bowen. "The Seal of the Confessional," which appears in the anthology Unholy Orders, was a finalist for the Agatha and Anthony awards. "Doppelganger," from the anthology Blood on their Hands, won the 2004 Anthony Award for best short story (both written under the name Rhys Bowen). She currently writes three series under this name: one featuring a British aristocrat, Lady Georgiana "Georgie", in 1930's England, one featuring an Irish immigrant, Molly Murphy, living in early 1900s New York City, and one featuring a Welsh police constable named Evan Evans.
Murphy's Law, the first in the Molly Murphy series, won the 2001 Agatha Award for Best Novel, and the second in the series Death of Riley, was a finalist for the 2002 Agatha Award for Best Novel.
She is the best-selling novelist author of the Boyfriend Club, a series of 4 freshmen girls in Alta Mesa High School (Arizona): Roni, Ginger, Justine and Karen.
Quin-Harkin is married and the parent of four children. She currently lives in California.
