I am currently reading, 'When the Grits Hit the Fan' by Maddie Day.  Book 3 in her Country Store series.  I love the characters and the character development.

Just finished Blowback, one of the Enzo Macleod investigation series, by Peter May.  Enzo is a Scottish forensics expert now based in Paris who is working his way through a series of unsolved crimes, one book at a time. Although some of his other series like The Lewis Trilogy, set in the Scottish Hebrides can be very dark, I have enjoyed them.  The China Thrillers series are also excellent.

Happy New Year to all.

Will someone post a mystery/thriller challenge?  This would include books not classified as cozies although cozies would fit as well.

Sins of the Fathers by Ruth Rendell.

this book had a different title at an earlier time.
This book has a very unusual twist at the end.

Pulse by Edna Buchanan. just started.
I put this on hold while I read something else. not sure I'll finish this.
Well, I'm back reading this. It's picking up interest wise.
The main guy in this has had a heart transplant. Once he is recovered after the procedure he decides he wants to make contact with the family of the donor. stuff happens.

Lovely Mover by Bill James. a Harpur and Iles police procedural.
James has an unusual style of writing. The conversations of the characters are short and cryptic and with a little acknowledged cliche like quality. interesting.

I'm reading a favorite new series under the "Love Inspired Suspense" title.  Light reads and the suspense, while it won't knock your socks off, is very good.

R.E.K., I didn't know they were not doing it until you mentioned it?  Interest apparently has declined or no one has decided to get it together.  What you could do is to go back several years and just post it as this year's challenge list.  Just a thought.

I haven't started yet, but I plan to read Cat Among the Pigeons by Agatha Cristie next.
This is a Hercule Poirot but He doesn't come in until just before the end. very short appearance.
