Written in the 1950s, it sort of has that opinionated, '50s style to it. A fascinating book.

Reads like a textbook, but if you enjoy history, you will enjoy this book.

A really fine and easy to read book on the history of Jews from before they were to 1950 and the founding of modern Israel. While a certain bias in favor of hebrews may exist it bring out the accomplishments as well as the 4000 years of persecution and problems that came up so often.

This is a book rich in the entire history of the Jews, from Abraham to 1960, when it was published. It is an old book, so the more current events in Israel are not here, and the perspective is perhaps more optomistic than one would have now. I found it intriguing, informative, and I could not put it down. Stuff I never knew in here. It neither panders nor attacks, but unbelievably sticks to just the facts. Written by a non-Jew, and definitely not offensive, that I could see, to any perspective, Christian, Jew, Muslim or otherwise. A great piece of history done in a very readable style.
