"[A] lucid look at what [Barber] insists is the underlying conflict of our times: religious and tribal fundamentalism versus secular consumerist capitalism..." -LA Times Book Review

I suppose he should get some credit for being prescient about the added significance of terrorism and tribalism now. However, he used "McWorld" way too often, it's a word that hasn't caught on, and the word and his writing were a little too flip for me. I read for a while, then finished my fries and left, never to return to the book.

Being a political science student, I picked this book up with great anticipation; couldn't wait to get into it. Way too dry for me but helped my GPA last semester.
