FROM THE PUBLISHER
After twenty years as a New York cop, James "Jimmy the Wags" Wagner thought he'd seen everything, but it wasn't until he retired and set up as a private investigator that his real education began. In no time at all, Wags found himself thrown headlong into the life of a P.I. - a world where the thin blue line is so fine as to become nearly invisible. His first private job is to bodyguard a goggle of hard-partying Saudi princes, and right away, with the help of a colorful cast of seasoned fellow P.I.s, Jimmy the Wags is on a roll and learning the ropes: debt collections, blackmail, custody interventions, and a divorce surveillance that gives new meaning to the phrase "man's best friend"; movie stars, private jets, car crashes, even a helicopter getaway under fire during on international kidnapping investigation. As the stories pile up, the money gets better and the players get bigger ... until Wags settles in as security chief of an upscale strip club and suddenly finds himself trapped between the Mafia and a psychotic enforcer for the Russian mob.

Very enjoyable tales of a retired policeman turned private investigator, told in a breezy, compelling, and often humorous manner. \

a snippet from a review on Amazon
"Wagner and coauthor Patrick Picciarelli make a real-life tough guy come off just like you'd want him to be: straight out of an Elmore Leonard novel, equal parts Joe Pesci and James Bond."
True, that.

I found it an engrossing read, and recommend his sequel of his experiences as a NYC policeman, which is even funnier, titled
My Life in the NYPD.
