The premise of this manga sounded pretty exciting but after giving it a read, I was really disappointed. There are only four or five 'chapters' in this first volume but all end with teaching the same lesson to the main character: that her demon wolf protectors love her, would do anything for her, and just want to be with her. Yet Takamichi can't seem to wrap her head around it so she neglects them and leaves them behind until they catch up with her and once again prove they love their mistress. We have to listen to the same story over and over again in just the first volume.

Maybe after this one, things get set on the right track but volume one didn't interest me enough about the characters to delve any further. I felt like I knew next to nothing about these characters after volume one.

If you want to enjoy the demon canine protects human mistress manga, I would highly recommend Her Majesty's Dog by Mick Takeuchi over this one. That has a volume one that hooks you with characters you feel you know after just one book. Give Jiu Jiu a pass and try out that one instead.
