A wonderful story about the consequences - and perks! - of having waaaaaay to much time on your hands.

This is a hilarious real-life account of a humorous television producer who starts a "cult" of people who help out strangers. However, that is not his beginning goal. He simply ran an ad in the classifieds one day saying "Join Me" without knowing what that would entail. The whole thing proceeds to spiral delightfully out of control, and Wallace's humor makes the story pop.

Fun read about how Wallace created his own collective (he emphasizes that it's *not* a cult) of joinees, for the purpose of... well, what *is* the purpose?! While he struggles to come up with a raison d'etre for his group, and to grow it to a thousand members, he finds himself in danger of losing his girlfriend Hanne, from whom he's kept his scheme a secret, convinced that she'd think it was another one of his foolish "boy-projects". Will he reach his membership goal? Why is everyone joining? And how will Hanne react if/when she discovers his plan? (I'm not telling - you'll have to read it yourself!)

This was a really interesting and different book about human nature. How curious and willing to take a chance people can be when they don't know what they are getting into.

Danny Wallace began a "movement" just by placing an ad in a small London paper asking people to "JOIN ME" without any more information than that. Quoting from the back of the book, "Equal parts hope and hilarity, JOIN ME is an inspiring and utterly original account of one man's ambitious (if unplanned) mission to bring people together and make the world a better place."

A fun, easy read. It's amazing how the author managed to make seemingly mundane aspects of his life amusing. Not particularly deep, but definitely enjoyable.

I absolutely loved this book. Who knew that the words "join me", could start such a phenomenon? This book was hard to put down because I wanted to see how Danny was going to succeed in achieving his goal. There are definitely some laugh out loud moments and there are times where you can feel how this project was taking its toll on him. This book definitely inspired me and I think it can and will inspire others. A must read!

Fun and light; just what I was in the mood for. I felt like I was tagging along on this adventure with him.
