This is the story of illegal immigrants, Maria, 15, and her older (pregnant & widowed) sister Julia and little brother Oscar and how they endure a cruel journey across the US border and head north to Chicago. A realistic story of secret lives remaining "invisible" while trying to survive while working illegally and being exploited. They try to keep in touch with their mother and sick little sister back in Mexico. Gives insight into the plight of people who will risk life and limb to make their way into our country and hopefully, find freedom.
