This book was a lot better than I thought it would be. The open-mindedness of the author makes this book very informative and provided well-researched descriptions. She shows how magic is used in a multitude of religions, from Christianity to Voodoo to Wicca and more. She herself was on a personal journey to try to figure out why these beliefs are so integral to those who practice them, as well seeming to want to find the importance of them (in her lack of belief) to herself as well.

I also learned more of other occult religions than I had known before reading this book and plan to use the bibliography in it to find more reading material on the various subjects suggested.
