If anyone is like a huge Katie Crouch (author of "Girls in Trucks" and "Men and Dogs") fan, she's coming to some readings near my town (Raleigh, NC) next week. I'm not an autograph hound, but I thought I'd let you all know in case you wanted me to pick you up a book. My guess is her new one will be discounted and since my parents are members, it'll be an extra 10% off. You would just need to Paypal me the money beforehand and I'll pick it up for you. She's doing a lot of Barnes and Noble (free) so there may be one near you.
In the same vein, I'm a little miffed. Chelsea Handler is coming too, and I think she'd be hysterical. But unlike Katie Crouch, she's performing at an amphitheatre. (OK, they're not necessarily in the same league, BUT.) While I'm OK with paying for a ticket (after all, she's a performer), I'm *not* OK with paying $33 for the cheapest seats PLUS more than $14 in 'convenience' charges. Doesn't seem very convenient to me! I'd pay $33 to see Chelsea, but the extras are peevy (and no, I probably wouldn't pay $44 to see her, if you get what I mean. Authors + book tours + free readings = much cooler!
