When I first started reading this book, I didn't think I'd finish it. The first chapter started out interestingly enough but I was unable to get into the story after that. But having made a promise to myself to finish every book I start, regardless of how horrible it is, I proceeded to read "Keegan's Lady" and Boy! Am I glad I did!
"Keegan's Lady" quickly became an enchanting love story between Ace Keegan, a dark gunslinger bent on revenge after the wrongful death of his stepfather at the hands of Caitlin's father, and Caitlin O'Shannessey, a tortured young woman who, at the abuse she's suffered at the hands of her father, has developed a mistrust and deep fear of all men.

Admittedly, I first found myself becoming slightly annoyed at Caitlin's jumpiness around her husband and his brothers and then my annoyance was replaced with sympathy and understanding as pieces of her abusive past were revealed. Admiring the way he gently dealt with his new bride, I quickly fell in love with Ace - a gunslinger with a heart of gold. What a hero!

I really liked the character of Ace's younger brother, Joseph, and am hoping that there is another book featuring his story. Being that this is the first book by Catherine Anderson that I've read - I plan on doing some searching for more books pertaining to the Keegan-OShannessey storyline.

There are plenty of laugh out loud moments in this book, as well as a few moments that make you hug the book to your chest and take a deep heartfelt sigh. I really enjoyed reading "Keegan's Lady" and agreed with another reviewer who felt like an epilogue was much needed. All in all, this is a highly recommended read.

Another great book for Catherine Anderson - there were times during this story that I actually felt it was taking a little too long to get going, but then once it did it was awesome! It definitely is not your typical "romance" novel - twists and turns and sometimes frustration on the readers part. She is a wonderful author and have thoroughly enjoyed all her books that I've read. Great book!

Loved this one by C.A. I have read it twice. The short story in The True Love Wedding Dress anthology and Summer Breeze are the next in line after this book.

This is one of the best books I've read all year. The story starts out immediately in the 'Prologue.' Ace Keegan's step-father was lynched in No Name, Colorado when Ace was 11 years old. Ace immediately became the leader of the family and eventually moved them to San Francisco.

The story picks back up almost 20 years later when Ace returns to No Name with his brothers and sets about a plan to wreak vengeance on the men who had wrongfully murdered his step-father. The leader of the murderers at the time had been Conor O'Shannessy; Ace returned to find him dead. Conor's son and daughter still cared for the ranch. When Conor's son, Patrick, gutshot his prize bull, Ace came to lynch Patrick (killing a man's livelihood was an offense that could legally call for a hanging).

This is an amazing story on so many levels. The story is too involved to be able to give a brief synopsis. The story was so compelling that I finished it in one sitting.
