I enjoy all of D.G.'s books, but this one was a little weak. Still a nice read, just not as compelling as some of her others.

I'm not rating this as high as I might like to. The story is still good and moves along at a pace to have kept my interest. However, I'm not enjoying Dorothy Garlock's later books as much as I did her earlier ones. This story is about Charlotte Tucker, the young girl in Stay a Little Longer and takes place in 1939 Oklahoma. In this book she leaves her home in Minnesota and moves to Oklahoma to teach school. She is given room and board on a horse ranch in exchange for tutoring a pregnant teen ager that the ranch owner is giving shelter to in a shack on the ranch. There she meets twins Owen and Hannah who have come from Colorado to find and take revenge on the man that got their mother pregnant with them and deserted her. harlotte and Owen quickly fall in love. Owen thinks it is the ranch owner that he's seeking, but Hannah is not so sure and Charlotte is quick to defend owner, who she thinks is a good man. However, someone on the ranch is doing malicious deeds and the finger points to Owen. Owen and Charlotte must solve the mystery in order to clear his name and perhaps find out who his "real" father is. There are other interesting characters on the ranch and in the town, however they do not get as well developed. Perhaps for another story?
