I fully believe that immerging myself in God in every detail of my life is the most wonderful way to live. It's amazing how well things go when I allow Him to run the show and purpose to keep Him in my heart and mind throughout my day.

How do you do this?

A few of my examples...

1. I pray while I do the dishes.

2. I pray while I mop.

3. My children's school curriculum is Christian and incorporates Scripture throughout.

4. I listen to Christian music.

5. I lovingly care for my children and teach them from the Bible.

Anyone else?

Actually, I have to trust him for every breath I breathe, he is the one that supplies it!  I look and find him working everywhere in my life and even in the lives of others!  Praying is just talking to the Lord, just like you would to someone you can see in the physical! The key is to listen also, for when he speaks to you!  And he uses the most amazing times to speak to me, it literally stops me in my tracks.  And later, I can recall exactly where I was that he spoke to me and what I was about to do when he spoke!   I give the Lord Jesus Christ praise for who he is and for the sacrifice he made so that all people could be set free from sin!  May each who call upon his name rejoice and bless the name of the Lord!

It used to be, when my alarm would go off in the AM, I would hit snooze and go back to sleep until it went off again (I USUALLY get up after 1 hit of the snooze).

Now, when my alarm goes off, I still hit the snooze button, but instead of just going back to sleep, I say a few prayers about whatever is on my mind when I wake up, or if nothing particular, just "thank You that I woke up and help me be a servant to You today and spread Your love."  Sometimes I still doze off a little, but I figure it's a good way to start the day.   (I also do my devotions, bible reading, more prayer after I get up - this is sort of my "warm up" prayer time).

Other things I do:

I listen to a Christian podcast (usually Joyce Meyer) on my way to work.  I also listen to a lot of Christian music (though I also listen to other music).

I usually say little prayers - even if it's just "I love you Lord" - during the day.  At work, I often do this when I go to the bathroom - it's someplace I'm alone!

I've taken to praying in my car, lately. I have a 10 minute drive to and from work so it's the perfect little "extra" time for those special intentions I've been holding in my heart.

I also pray throughout the day, of course, but the car is a new addition for me.

I struggle with this every day.   I am curious to know HOW much time each day you spend reading the Bible? studying Bible lessons? praying?         I don't spend as much time as I feel is needed on any of them.           I'm not talking about time in church.    How much time do you devote to them daily?   I am not even a very busy person but it seems as if I let the "world" sneak in and rob me of  time  I want to be spending with the Lord.              Anyone else have this problem.

I hope this isn't a hijack Michelle - is so, I'll be happy to start another thread.

Not at all, Cozi. I read the Bible with the kids in the a.m. I would estimate we spend about 30 minutes there. I read the Bible in the evenings. How long I spend depends on what I read. As for how long I spend in prayer...I don't know. I keep an ongoing conversation while I am doing things like dishes and vacuuming and stuff, and while I am driving...either silent prayer or praise music going 90% of the time.

It's hard to pinpoint an amount of time. I'd like to get to the point where there is no time to pinpoint, because it's an all day long thing for me. After all, it IS all about HIM anyway.

I have an unbringing-related roadblock that tries to convince me that God doesn't care about the details...that He's not in the details. But He is...He is in everything. So I am working to correct that belief, which takes time and effort.

How do I put God at the head of my daily life?

I put Him first above all others and do the following in good times and in bad....

I get up early and pray with Him and Praise Him and read my Bible. I also read nonfiction Christian books that help me too.  I have no set time how long it takes. Every day is different but I start my day with HIm. I find that I get more out of it that way. If I have to go by a predetermined plan (like reading a certain amount of chapters  or spending a certain amount of time) it is to regimental for me and I don't get as much out of it and it becomes a chore instead of something I look forward to. It is a good start  for me to deal with whatever I have to face during the day.

I  also keep my Bible close by  me and  may read it throughout the day. Maybe just a verse, maybe several chapters.

I hang out with God all the time. I talk to him, Praise & thank  Him in word and song and say prayers throughout the day  and  sometimes, it's God's turn and I have to be wise enough to  listen to Him.

I listen to Christian music, read Christian fiction, and watch Christian tv & movies whenever I can.

I listen to Christian  teaching tapes, dvds, cds to learn more.

I try to bless others whenever I can---even if it is just a smile or word of encouragement.

I support ministries and missions.

I tell others about Him.

I try to use the gifts He gave me.

I count my blessings.

I try to live by example.

Then, I end my day with  prayer.

I start my day with the Lord. I use The Daily Guideposts for Spirit lifing thoughts for the Every day of the year. I never know where it will be or what it will be on. I feel I have traveled the world in 8 months. From the poor of the poor to the high classes all 8 months. 68 authors of all walks of life in one book.  I have leared sooooooooo much in one book. After my reading I do my prayers and my prayer list. Then God comes with me for the  day.  He is on the radio at home and in the car. He is at work with me at the store with me. Where ever I go and when ever I can I talk about him. Some people don't like it and some would rather put him in the box. Not me I love talking about the Lord in general terms. When at last I lay my head down I thank God for a wonderful day because he was with me.

Life is busy and time goes fast. Make it better when you start at the feet of the cross.

Thank you for your thoughful, caring answers.          I know I've let myself move away from God slowly over the years.   I've just let other things crowd him out (including this site) a bit at a time until I feel as if I am wandering.  I KNOW God hasn't moved away from me, but I have moved away from HIM.         I am working on it but it is taking me awhile to put Him first in everything.            I honestly did not realize how FAR away from him I had moved.            It's not like I've been going out and doing awful things.   I've just let my time with God slip away and of course that erodes my whole life.         Thank you for your help and reminder that I can get myself back on track.

Thanks Erin....wow.  That's just what I needed to hear, today.  I'll think I'll print that out and hang it on my wall!

You are welcome Beverly, I know it is what keep me grounded all day. Even when the storms come at you. I take a deep breath and look up !! Then things don't look so bad. I remember that God is with me at that moment and he knows what is going on. So I try to step back and let him lead. Not always easy to do because the flesh alwasy want control but I keep trying untill I get there.

Have a Great Holiday weekend !!!

Wow, I'm humble and a bit shamed reading some of these posts!  I am not doing what you all are.  My prayer life is better now than it ever has been, as I find myself praying at all times of the day, like an ongoing conversation.  But as for reading my Bible...I'm not so great at that.  I study each week for our Bible class on Wednesday nights (we just finished Revelation adn we're getting ready to start Acts) but I know I should do more than that and don't.....I'm ashamed to admit it.  :(

So Cozi, you're NOT alone in this....I struggle with daily life getting in the way: schooling my kids, taking care of them and breaking up fights!, keeping the house, etc.  I get to the end of my day and just want to collapse and don't make time for God.  I know it is MY choice and I need to be making better ones.

Hi Amanda, Weekly bible study is great!!! I can't fit that into my schedule.. With my shifts always changing I can't be sure I be off to be there.. I have tried to read it on my own and just got lost. I need a good teacher who doesn't mind questions. I did find listen to Christian radio helpfull too. I don't always agree with them but I try to listen to them.

Have a great weekend :)
