I really enjoyed this tale which takes place in London and Cornwall. I found it very reminiscent of Rosamunde Pilcher's books both is style and setting. Lovely writing, witty dialogue and fully fleshed out, involving characters. This is the 3rd book I have read by Jean Stubbs and while I have enjoyed them all, this is far and away my favourite!

Wounded by the husband who ruled her and the lover who used her, Flavia Pollard has closed her heart to love. At a crossroads, where everything familiar seems uninspired, she must choose a new direction. Throwing caution to the winds, Flavia trades in her trendy London home for the windswept cliffs of Cornwall, where she's given the chance to turn a grand but crumbling manor house into a beautiful country inn. There, she'll court trimph as a fabulous chef and risk heartbreak with a man as mysterious as he is handsome. Combining the complex, richly-drawn characters reminiscent of Maeve Binchy with the evocative atmosphere of a Rosamunde Pilcher novel, internationally acclaimed author Jean Stubbs creates a moving and memorable story.
