We are huge fans of the books in this series! Fantastic ideas for great summer fun! Most projects can be done independantly by your kids - but I'm telling you, you won't want to miss too many of them.
Also try 'The Kid's Winter Handbook' and if you like camping, 'The Kid's Campfire Handbook'. We loved them both egually as well as this one!

Fabulous book of outdoor skills, adventures and crafts. Learn how to make a waterscope, find summer constellations, build a bat hangout, make invisible ink and dye fabric using plants. These and zillions of other vacation/cottage friendly activities will remind us all that summer can be about more than water parks!
