While I found the language used for the aliens in this series somewhat annoying since it broke up the flow of the book, the storyline is interesting.

This book is the second in an ongoing series following the adventures of spacetraveling race of feline aliens as they battle other alien for trading, political reasons. The first book of the series was called "The Pride of Chanur". One of the feline aliens, Capt Pynar Chanur, rescued Tully, the sole surviving human from Earth's first deep space. Her act of charity has angered her own clan and marked her for death by the evil alien race known as The Kif. Other books in the series included "Chanur's Venture" and "Charnur's Homecoming". According to the author's note, these stories are included into the same universe as "Down Below Station" and "Faded Sun". I have never seen or read any of the other books in this series. I must confess not to having read the entire book, since it was in the Dune type prose, dense plot, plus part of a series that I had not been introduced into-so I was rather lost from the beginning and lost interest from there. Hopefully somebody who is a fan will snag it up.
