Unforgettable story of a young girl at an awkward age, wondering why life is so crazy. She feels her father left because she was born a girl, she doesn't feel deserved so she remains silent. She goes to therapy and her Mother gets training so their life improves. Seen from a teenager's point of view this story is direct and realistic and beautifully portrayed. Well written and delightful!

Kiffe Kiffe Demain (Kiffe Kiffe Tomorrow) is a slim volume penned by Faiza Guene about a young Maghrebine girl (Arab girl of N. African descent living in France) who is just coasting by in life. Every day is kif-kif (same old same old) until things finally start to change, as she meets more people, understands more things, and sees some light at the end of the tunnel. Wise beyond her years, Doria lives in the projects on the outskirts of Paris, with other Muslims in a very insular world. Her father has dumped her and gone back to Morocco, seeking a new, younger wife than Doria's cleaning lady mom, Jasmina. Doria has a blase, mature point of view for one so young. An interesting look at the immigrant's view of France and of not really belonging or assimilating.
