This book was just ok. The story line was good but it felt like a teenager wrote it. I feel like my 10 year old could read this book with no problems. I prefer books that are more challenging to read and have more depth. Criminal Minds is my favorite show, I was kind of disappointed with the book.

The plot of this novel was fascinating. I loved (and feared) the idea of a serial killer copy catting other serial killers, and the problem of finding out who he was going to copy next kept the story moving smoothly. I also was impressed by the fact that (and it's sad to put it this way) it wasn't just the 'same ol' serial killers over and over again. I even learned about a couple I've never heard of before.

The characters themselves though were bland I thought. The characters from the show were, not quite spot on. There were similarities but the dialog seemed strained, as if the author was trying very hard to make them sound like they would in the show, but just...missing it.

Unless you're a hardcore fan who this would bother greatly, it doesn't take away from the book too much. I really enjoyed this and look forward to the next one in November.
