Does anyone know if I can use an amazon giftcard for purchasing kindle ebooks? I don't want to use CCs and want to buy an amazon giftcard and use the balance for book purchases. I know B&N lets me do this with my Nook - I have it set to apply gift card balances first before using a card but I didn't see that option when I was browsing on amazon unless I was in the wrong place. |

Yes. For physical gift cards you go into your account and look for the link that talk kes you to the area where you enter the number off the card. The card amount will be added to your amazon account where you can apply it to any order. For the email ones just follow the links in the email. You can even get an Amazon code on some coinstar machines and enter that code the same way. Last Edited on: 2/15/14 1:33 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

This is actually the way I manage my Kindle purchases. It helps me keep my book budget under control. |

exactly Heather! that's what I'm wanting to do - I find with the 1 click credit card setup I buy a lot of 99 ct and 1.99 stuff because it's 'cheap' and I'm wanting to stop/slow the spending on ebooks somewhat. |

It's a great way to let kids order books. They have a built in limit. |
