While this book is nearly twenty years old, I found "The Story of the M-1, America's Super Tank" fascinating. Orr Kelly sets the stage for his tale of the developement of "The Ultimate Battle Chariot" with concise background on tank use in WWII. Post-war developements in tank design, of both friend and foe, meld into a story of U.S. politics, military thought, engineering breakthroughs, frustration, jealousy, money and intrigue. The end result- the most formidable main battle tank today.
