Stephen J. Cannell is best known for producing television shows with lots of action but he is also a novelist. His books are like his TV shows - fast, light, and lots of action. "King Con" is no exception. It's the story of Beano, a con artist who is almost beaten to death and his cousin murdered after one of his scams. Beano, along with his extended family of grifters, vows revenge. "King Con" is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
