Laura Payne does a great job unlocking the life of pioneer artist Gustave Klimt. The term essential contates more than a talent, but a innovator with style undefined by traditional terms a new movement was named of which he was the president. He attempts to bring life to a new form of art enlisting the flight of fantasy of Marc Chagall to the portrait style of Singer Sargent with a little Mary Cassett and Edvard Munch thrown in for good measure Klimt expresses human emotion in a colorful dynamic way. I especially enjoy the mosaic blends of shape and color in his famous "The Kiss" and the realism in his murals of the Globe theatre on the walls of the Burgtheater in his home of Vienna. Master doesn't begin to describe a talent so rare and art so diverse.
