If you only read one book by Jude Deveraux, this is the one to read! Over the years I have re-read this book several times. This is a real "keeper." I am only offering this to swap as I have other copies of the book!

If you enjoyed THE OUTLANDER you would also like this story about time travel/adventure/love. It's really a good read that will keep you interested until the last page. I loved it!

This is one of my favorite time travel romances. I just fell in love with the characters.

As an historical fiction fan, I read this one on the recommendation of a friend. I found the beginning a bit rushed as if the author were hurrying to "get to the point" of the book, a couple of the early scenes a bit contrived and a major logic gap. Despite all this, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Once the story got going, it was delightfully entertaining, racy enough to feel naughty, but clean enough that I'd recommend it to my Granny. Enjoy!

This is the first romance novel I remember ever reading long ago. I absolutely love this story, its the one book besides (gone with the wind) that I would love to pick up and read again. I can remember it made such an emotional impact I was crying & laughing while reading it.

I was given this book many years ago and over the years have probably had 20+ copies of it - the problem is that every time I tell someone about it and lend out the book - it never comes back to me - people love it THAT much...I finally got another hardcopy edition which stays in my bookshelf but one of my missing paperbacks finally came home after many years, so I thought I would pass it on to someone else. Half of the book is fascinating historical and the other half is contemporary - the best of both worlds. I promise that you will love this book...I've never lent it to anyone who didn't fall in love with it or said they couldn't put it down once they started.

Abandoned by a cruel fate, lovely, thoroughly modern Dougless Montgomery lay weeping upon a cold tombstone in an English church. Suddenly, as if in answer to her prayers, the most extraorderanry man appeared. He was Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck, and according to his tombstone he had died in 1564. Tall, broad of shoulder, attired in gleaming silver and gold, he was magnificent. Drawn to his side by a bond so sudden and compelling it overshadowed reason. Dougless kenw that Nicholas was nothing less than a miracle, a man who would not seek to change her, who found her perfect, fascinating, just as she was. Yet she could not imagine how strong were the chains that tied them to the past or the grand adventure that lay before them.
