This is one of those books that you continue to slog through because the history is fascinating. However, it is by no means a page turner. I originally thought the book would cover the entire history of the templars (hundreds of years) due to its size, but it covers just the very beginnings. I did find the history very interesting and if you like historical fiction, you may, too. Just be prepared because it is not a fast read. I will give the second book a try.

I just couldn't get into this book. there is no intrigue or action, I did not get through to the first 100 pages because it read more like a life saga than a templar book. I wish I could have enjoyed it because there are not that many newer templar book out there and I enjoy the templar story. But every time I thought about picking it up to read it I found anything else to do.

Great read, some excellent theories about early christianity and the beginning years of the Templar.
