"A priceless mixture of old and new...May even lure readers who thought they were beyond the fairy-tale age." - New York Herald Tribune Books
A fun story about an old toy soldier who comes to life; and a brother, sister and cousins who find themselves in a bygone world of chivalry and knighthood.

My 10 year old son loved Edward Eager's entire series, beginning with Half Magic. This book takes the children back to the time of Robin Hood and Ivanhoe through a magical old tin soldier. A mix of fairy tale, literature and history in the style of E. Nesbit (Five Children and It).
