N older title, but perfect for the beginner. a "Failure Proof method for learning the basic stitches" (so says the blurb on the back of the book. There are also directions for more complicated techniques. Step by step instructions, and each chapter has simple items that can be made using the things learned in that chapter, and previous ones. A great guide for the newbie knitter! (Knewbie Knitter?)

Master the art of knitting -- one stitch at a time. For the beginner, here is a failure-proof method for learning the basic stitches. And for the specialist who wants to add to her repertoire, there are directions for more complicated techniques.

Step-by-step instructions accompany each group of basic stitches. And -- for the practice essential to learning -- each chapter is followed by directions for simple items that can be made using only the knowledge previously acquired.
