If you live in or around Latham NY "The Book Barn" has books that start at $0.25. He only deals in books that would be considerd postable! It's awesome.

Our Goodwill sells paperbacks for .99 cents and hardcovers for $1.99.

Paperbacks at the YWCA thrift shop are 5/$1 and hardcovers are $1.

The Salvation Army offers paperbacks for 20% of the cover price and hardcovers are randomly priced. The Salvation Army a little further away charges 10% of the cover price for paperbacks.

We have two St. Vincent de Paul shops in the area.  Paperbacks at one are 10 cents and 50 cents at the shop near my office.

Dollar General generally charges $1.25-$3 for their books.

Milton Flea Market in Milton WV has a store called "Treasures Galore".  The owner gives you a card and punches out numbers when you spend so much money earning you free books.  She also takes "trade ins" and gives you credit for the trade ins.  My last visit I gave her a bag of books and ended up with over $10 cash credit and then purchased about eight or so books and only spent $9 and some change after using my credit.  Her books range from $1.50 to $3.50 from what I've seen but usually the romances I buy average $2-2.50.  I wouldn't always pay that for a book when buying lots but with trade in credit I think it's great.

They have a phone number 304-743-9471 if anyone is interested in getting directions or hours or just for more information.  I love this place.  The flea market itself is huge and worth the trip and if I didn't live so far from it I'd be there every weekend.  There is no address on the card just says building D.

Half-Price Books always has clean, inexpensive books.

Borders usually has a "Buy Two, Get One Free" on paperbacks.

If you live in the Boerne, TX area, the Animal League Rummage Store has books starting at .59 cents. That is a favorite stop of mine on the weekend!

www.alibris.com

www.abebooks.com

Both have great buys on books--some brand new and many hard to find.

The Dollar Tree near me recently got in a load of remainder paperbacks. I found a few that were not heavily posted here. Several sci-fi, westerns, and a couple dealing with the Zone diet.
