Apologies because I'm sure it's been asked before -

Is there a way for me to tell how many copies of a book are listed in the system? My mother-in-law just gave me a bag of paperbacks that she was going to take to the FOL store. Most of them are mass-market. I figure if there are 100 copies of a book in the system, there' s not much point in putting it on my shelf and I'll take to the FOL, but I don't know how to find this information.

Add them to your Reminder List, and you will be able to see how many are in the system.  :)

And of course sometimes a book with 100 copies already listed will be requested sooner than a book with no other copies listed.  But yes, clicking on +RL, then going to your reminder list, is the way to get the info you want.

Just FYI -- I list them anyway.  I've had books requested pretty quickly that had a lot in the system.  I can only guess they pulled up my shelf and found it there.  I've received WL books the same way.  BUT neither my library nor my local USB would be interested in them -- so there's that to consider.  :-)

List them if you have the storage space. I just had a book request come in yesterday for a book I posted several months ago. There were a lot of copies in the system. I forgot I even had it anymore.  But it's going out this week.

I mostly just go ahead and list them unless there's like 200+ and I know I'm going to be making a UBS run soon. I've had people check my bookshelf using the 'order more from this member' button when they have a wishlisted book I posted come up and order another book or two from the shelf, so sometimes they certainly can get ordered out of sequence, too. Unless you're in a major hurry to just free up the space, I would go ahead and post them.

Also since you're doing BOB, I often find (when my boxer account isn't on hold like now) that I get requests for those books with lots of copies.  That's how I usually get books I want w/ lots of copies as well.
