Out of curiosity I checked the details of a book I ordered that was marked mailed on 2/2. I saw that a label was printed today (2/10). Does this mean that the book was not mailed until today - at best? Here is the detail:

It could. It doesn't necessarily mean that though since any accessing of the label will cause a new print date to show up. That used to be the only way to see where the book was going to, but now that information is on the main screen with the transaction. Seeing as they marked it mailed at the same time that they printed the first time, my bet would be on yes they probably just mailed the book today. Nothing really to be done if they did though, record the post date when you get it and if they are mailing late on a regular basis the site will do something about it. |

Could go either way Diane, but if you're concerned make yourself a note to check the label date when it arrives. If the printed postage or counter postage are actually dated 8 days after it was marked mailed, then feel free to note that when you log the book in as received. But as already mentioned, that notation in itself does not prove the book was mailed late...the member may have had another reason to view the label again and thus generate another date in the system. Hope your book arrives very soon! |

I've clicked on the wrong button before. Wanting the details button but pushed the label button. After you mark a book mailed, the button moves over to be right next to the other one. Do fill out that little survey about the mailing dates. If the mailing date is late, an automatic email is sent out. |

Yup, what Emily said. I've done it more than once.
